A well-established and internationally active fragrance manufacturer is seeking a Head of Application Technology to lead the creation and growth of a new technical function within the business.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced application technology leader to build a department from the ground up, define technical strategies, establish laboratories and testing capabilities, and work closely with perfumers, commercial teams, and customers to drive innovation across multiple fragrance categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the company's application technology function
- Develop technical strategies supporting customer projects and business growth
- Build and manage application laboratories and testing capabilities
- Design and implement performance, stability, and compatibility testing methods
- Drive innovation across Home Care, Personal Care, Fabric Care, Air Care, and Fine Fragrance applications
- Collaborate with commercial and creative teams to develop customer-focused solutions
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing technical team
Ideal Background
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, or a related scientific discipline
- Significant experience within fragrance application technology, product development, R&D, or technical services
- Strong understanding of formulation science and fragrance performance evaluation
- Leadership experience, with the ability to build teams and technical capabilities
- Fluent German and English
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for creating new structures and driving change
