- Your role is to build, manage, operate & continuously improve the database services infrastructure that supports the customer facing applications, back office & delivery infrastructure.
- You\’ll be responsible for leading complex workstreams & projects & act as a mentor (m / f / d) for offshore team members of levels 1 & 2.
- Manage & support incident, change & problem management processes to ensure responses are provided within appropriate timescales – also provide technical escalations to offshore database teams at levels 1 & 2.
- You\’ll build effective working relationships for close customer contact with service owners & application teams to ensure that technology & process improvements result in overall service improvement for our end customers.
- You\’ll communicate regularly with technical development & operations staff to ensure database integrity, capacity & security.
- You\’ll be responsible for defining & measuring SLAs & KPIs, operational process delivery, overall health of the facility & processes.
What you\’ll bring
- You\’ve a degree and at least 5-6 years of professional experience in Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, Couchbase, MySQL, PostgreSQL or other common DB technologies.
- You already have experience of working in an environment where it was crucial to meet the changing needs of the business quickly.
- In particular, your work with Oracle RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Data Guard & ASM & your experience in helping to define and develop operational processes for Level 1 and Level 2 database teams to manage Sky\’s corporate estate will be one of your strengths.
- You describe yourself as open-minded in a fast-paced, dynamic 24×7 environment.
- Good communication & relationship management skills complete your profile.
