Overview
Our Data team plays a pivotal role in enabling data-informed decision-making and powering analytics across all Smartbroker products and services. As a Senior ProductOwnerData, you will own the strategic development and operational excellence of our internal data platform and marketing technology stack. You will work at the intersection of business strategy, marketing automation, and technical data infrastructure – ensuring high-quality, trusted, and actionable data and tools across the organization. You’ll be driving both the daily operations and the long-term evolution of data and MarTech capabilities that enable efficient, measurable, and scalable performance and retention marketing. This is a hybrid role based in Berlin. Together with the Head of Data & Martech and the Technical Owner, you will take over the functional leadership of the Data team which we are currently scaling.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the vision and roadmap for Smartbroker’s internal data products, ensuring data accessibility, marketing automation, and analytical capabilities across teams
- Define and measure product success through KPIs such as adoption, delivery speed, campaign performance enablement, and marketing efficiency gains
- Be a sparring partner to our product teams, enabling them to continuously improve their functionalities and the overall customer experience
- Translate marketing and business needs into actionable product requirements – from real-time data integrations and reporting to experimentation tooling and lifecycle automation
- Enable and scale performance and CRM marketing efforts through data-driven infrastructure and tools, in close collaboration with marketing, tech, and data teams
- Lead the development and integration of MarTech components such as audience management, segmentation, campaign orchestration, A/B testing frameworks, attribution, and event tracking
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and regulatory frameworks while enabling personalization and performance measurement
- Manage a wide range of stakeholders across business, marketing, and engineering with clear communication, prioritization, and transparency

Your profile
What you will need
- 4+ years of experience in Product Management, ideally in data, analytics, or MarTech roles
- Technical understanding of modern data and MarTech stacks (e.g., customer data platforms, tracking, campaign tools, experimentation frameworks)
- Experience enabling and scaling performance or CRM marketing through automation, insights, and tooling
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across marketing, product, tech, and leadership
- Ability to drive both day-to-day delivery and long-term strategy
- Familiarity with regulatory and privacy topics (GDPR, data retention, etc.)
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
- Based in or willing to relocate to Berlin, with a flexible hybrid setup and a minimum of two office days per week in Kreuzberg
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in fintech, brokerage, or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with tools like Segment, Bloomreach, Looker Studio, Google Tag Manager, GCP
- Strong grasp of marketing funnel metrics and campaign lifecycle workflows
- Previous experience in building cross-functional enablement layers for growth and lifecycle teams
