Your mission

Our Platform team forms the backbone of the Smartbroker experience – powering seamless collaboration between our backend services and the user-facing products on iOS, Android, and Web. As a Senior Product Owner Platform, you will take ownership of a key platform domain, working at the intersection of system architecture and cross-platform integration. In this role, you’ll partner closely with engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to ensure we build a scalable, robust, and flexible platform that drives rapid product innovation while meeting the demands of a regulated, high-availability financial services environment. Based in Berlin, this hybrid role also includes taking on the functional leadership of the Platform team together with the Technical Owner.

What you will be doing

Drive the vision and roadmap for our cross-functional platform team, ensuring technical scalability, high availability, and efficiency across all client platforms
Own initiatives end-to-end: from problem discovery and technical requirement gathering to delivery, rollout, and impact measurement
Manage core functionalities and services your team owns, including authentication and authorization, document and notification management, preferences, linking, and release management
Collaborate with Engineering (backend, mobile, and web), Design, QA, and external vendors to align on concepts, technical integration, and decisions
Translate goals and platform needs into actionable product requirements (functional and non-functional)
Understand the technical landscape – including backend services, APIs, frontend interfaces, authentication, monitoring, and deployment infrastructure
Champion a platform-first mindset in terms of quality standards and performance, enabling teams across Smartbroker to ship faster and with greater confidence
Advocate for clean architecture, tech debt prioritization, and internal developer experience improvements for a growing business and a highly demanding customer clientele

Your profile

4+ years of experience in Product Management, ideally with focus on platform, developer tools, or infrastructure
Strong technical understanding – you’re comfortable discussing API design, authentication flows, CI/CD, and service ownership
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills – you can collaborate across engineering, business, and leadership teams
Experience working in cross-functional teams, ideally in a regulated or high-security environment (finance, health, etc.)
You’re structured, work data-informed, and able to balance technical constraints with business priorities
Fluent English is required; German is a plus
You’re based in or willing to relocate to Berlin, with a flexible hybrid setup with a minimum of two days in our collaborative Kreuzberg office per week
