We're hiring our first on-site hardware engineer to own the calibration lab's fixtures, targets, lighting, and camera rigs, and to be the bridge between our local software/CV team and our remote mechanical and electrical teams. What you’ll do

Own the calibration lab hardware: fixtures, targets, lighting, and camera rigs Design and build fixtures, jigs, and simple mechanisms (CAD, 3D printing, machine shop) Build prototype circuits and wiring; integrate sensors, lighting, and triggers Integrate off-the-shelf components into stable, repeatable calibration stations Bring up and accept new stations and vendor-built equipment Characterize station repeatability and fix drift when it appears Root-cause hardware issues locally; expand to remote ME/EE with clear data Read and modify the Python scripts that drive lab hardware Define requirements for, and review deliverables from, remote ME/EE teams Document setups and procedures; manage vendors, parts, and lab upkeep Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong mechanical fundamentals: CAD, manufacturing drawings, tolerancing and GD&T, fixtures and jigs, 3D printing Practical electrical skills: prototype circuits, wiring, sensors, DAQ; debugs power and signal chains with a multimeter and oscilloscope Hands-on integration and debug of systems combining mechanical, electrical, cameras, and robot arms Defines requirements and reviews and accepts deliverables from other engineering teams Communicates clearly with remote hardware teams and local software engineers Reads and modifies Python scripts; production-grade code not required Practical, data-driven, and comfortable with shifting priorities Minimum Qualifications:

BS/BA in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience 3+ years of industry experience building and maintaining lab or test hardware Produces CAD models and manufacturing drawings independently Has designed, toleranced, and built fixtures, jigs, or mechanisms, including 3D-printed parts Builds prototype circuits and wiring; troubleshoots power and signal issues with standard lab equipment Able to read and modify Python scripts Preferred Qualifications:

MS in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field Computer-vision or optics knowledge Experience with opto-mechanical systems Experience with small, highly toleranced components and assemblies Test-station development, debug, and support Simple board design taken through outsourced fabrication Experience programming industrial robot arms (e.g., KUKA, ABB) using vendor toolkits Measurement system analysis (repeatability, Gage R&R) Background in AR/VR, wearables, or consumer hardware If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please don’t be shy and provide us some information .
