Metering Specialist (M/F/X)
Your mission
You ensure the technical mastery of the metering subsystem and manage its evolution, guaranteeing its coherence with data acquisition systems.
You analyse, design, test and validate technical solutions to ensure their reliability and usability in an interconnected systems environment.
As the technical referent for the metering subsystem, you design and define solutions, and act as an expert in the use of data acquisition and management systems, contributing to their evolution in close collaboration with the architect.
You actively contribute to the structuring and simplification of the technical environment.
Your responsibilities
Analysis & understanding of systems
- Understand the operation of remote reading and metering systems - Analyse interactions between equipment, communication and systems - Identify inconsistencies, limitations and areas for improvement
Testing & technical validation
- Conduct tests and pilot projects to validate technical choices - Operate and develop a test laboratory as a central validation tool to reproduce and analyse system operation - Validate end-to-end operation: meter – communication – systems
Configuration & fine-tuning
- Design technical solutions for the metering subsystem, from the meter to communication, including equipment, protocols and configuration - Define and evolve reference configurations implemented in the field by technicians - Test and validate equipment, firmware and configurations in a laboratory environment before deployment - Ensure the proper functioning of the metering subsystem, guaranteeing deployment reliability across the fleet and absence of regression
Evolution & technical recommendations
- Make technical choices for components and solutions within the metering subsystem, as well as their acquisition and provision for technicians - Arbitrate technical choices based on operational constraints - Analyse the use of data acquisition and management systems, identify evolution needs and provide technical recommendations in close collaboration with the architect - Contribute to cross-functional projects within the service or company, including outside the metering domain
Support & structuring
- Establish usage procedures and guidelines - Structure and document practices - Train metering technicians - Provide second-level technical support
Supplier relations
- Manage technical relations with suppliers of the metering subsystem - Contribute to the evaluation of solutions for data acquisition and management systems, in close collaboration with the architect
Monitoring & technical evolution
- Maintain active technological watch on equipment, systems and components (meters, communication, protocols, software) - Follow technological developments and identify impacts and opportunities for the metering system
Your profile
- Technical training (electricity, electronics, automation or equivalent) - Experienced metering technician, or technical profile from a related field, wishing to actively engage in understanding and mastering the overall data chain operation - Curious, analytical and autonomous, with a rigorous approach to technical systems - Ability to analyse, structure and understand complex technical systems - Comfortable with a practical approach: test, verify, analyse before deciding - Assets: Experience in interconnected technical systems, knowledge of remote reading or data acquisition systems (HES, MDM or equivalent), experience in testing, validation or technical projects.
