Role overview
Evolve the configuration experience of an enterprise mobility platform used by leasing, fleet, and mobility operators worldwide. The role is anchored in a Ghent-based hybrid team and centers on modernizing how consultants and customers configure the platform through self-service tooling, while contributing broadly to backend engineering across the product.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services primarily in Go, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Lead the design and evolution of configuration management and self-service tooling for the enterprise platform.
- Collaborate with product owners, engineers, and business consultants to translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Take ownership of broader backend engineering challenges across the platform as familiarity grows.
- Contribute to a global engineering community by sharing knowledge and improving development practices.
Requirements
- Professional backend software engineering experience with Go, including at least two years working hands-on with the language.
- Solid experience designing and developing REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
- Strong background in automated testing and relational databases, with a track record of building production-ready software.
- Analytical, ownership-driven mindset with fluent English and an interest in applying AI-assisted engineering tools across the development lifecycle.
Nice to have
- Experience with Java and Quarkus alongside Go.
- Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or comparable event-driven technologies.
- Background with complex domain models, enterprise platforms, or leasing or fleet management software.
