Your Role
Manual Underwriting Operations
- Define and refine the structure of complex credit transactions.
- Assess and approve credit transactions, ensuring full compliance with the OHB (Operational Handbook) and external regulatory frameworks.
- Continuously perform, optimise, and maintain the credit approval process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Establish and maintain manual credit file management systems.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of credit files to reflect current risk profiles.
Automatic Underwriting & Logic
- Assist in setting and refining the technical criteria for the Decision Engine.
- Align the conceptual consistency of underwriting principles across both manual and automated channels.
Credit Portfolio Steering
- Prepare regular qualitative portfolio reviews accompanied by action proposals to maintain credit risk exposure within established risk appetite levels.
- Execute ad‑hoc assessments as required to mitigate emerging risks.
- Monitor partnership team activities specifically regarding dunning, workout, and collection actions to ensure alignment with risk standards.
Strategic Projects & Compliance
- Take responsibility for closing audit findings within the respective focus areas.
- Lead training initiatives for CRM and Solaris staff on core underwriting principles.
- Drive project‑related tasks, including the development and launch of new loan products.
Qualifications
- A university degree, ideally with a focus on economics, business administration, banking or a comparable qualification.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in credit risk management in a bank or financial institution.
- Experience with financial products in relation to credit loans, process setup and loan documentation processes, credit risk management and/or credit structuring.
- Experience in regulatory requirements for the respective focus area.
- It would be a great advantage if you have experience in advanced Excel, Python, Tableau and/or HTML.
- Fluency in English to engage with all international team members; German communication skills are a strong advantage.
- Hands‑on and “driving the change” mindset.
- Reliable, solution‑oriented, independent working method.
- Used to working under pressure / on tight deadlines.
- Stakeholder management for multiple tasks and strong communication skills.
- Passionate about credit and always eager to improve “old fashioned” processes end‑to‑end with new approaches and technology.
- Comfortable working with AI tools, thinking critically about AI outputs, and contributing to a culture of responsible AI use.
