Overview
As a Platform Engineering lead, you will steer the Cloud Operations & SRE efforts to deliver reliable, scalable SonarQube Cloud and SonarQube Server. You’ll guide a team of Cloud and SRE engineers, partnering with value stream squads to meet developers’ needs while upholding governance. You’ll shape resiliency, efficiency, and security at scale, helping drive the next evolution of our platform. This role combines hands-on leadership with strategic planning in a fast-growing AI-enabled software company.
Verantwortungsbereiche
- Lead and mentor a team of Cloud Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers to build autonomy and handle cloud complexities
- Ensure high engineering standards focusing on reliability, performance, and security
- Oversee the team’s on-call, incident response, and automation to reduce manual toil
- Foster blameless post-mortems and share architectural insights for continuous improvement
- Coordinate with value stream squads to align production platform with developers’ needs and governance
- Communicate a clear squad vision aligned with platform roadmap emphasizing resiliency, continuity, and cost optimization
- Partner with Hiring to recruit engineers and improve hiring processes to meet goals
- Lead by example with servant leadership and high-stakes decision-making
Zentrale Anforderungen
- 8+ years in software engineering with emphasis on SRE, Cloud Operations, or Infrastructure Engineering
- Operational mindset with experience managing mission-critical shared services (e.g., Aurora DBs, OpenSearch, Control Planes)
- Advanced knowledge of AWS (or similar providers) and experience with large-scale infrastructure (IAM, OUs, Account Vending)
- Infrastructure as Code experience (Python, CDK, Terraform) and ability to perform rigorous code reviews for infra components
- Observability and resiliency expertise (logging, tracing, metrics) and DR/BC planning
- Agile experience and cloud cost optimization know-how (Rightsizing, Spot, Reserved Instances)
