In this role you develop and optimize hearing device features to deliver superior listening experiences. You work closely with cross-functional R&D and marketing teams to translate innovative tech into measurable end-user benefits. You will parameterize functions, apply AI methods for audiological improvements, and verify performance in lab and real-world testing. Your work shapes device sound quality through rigorous testing, experimentation, and collaboration, contributing to Sonova’s mission to improve lives through hearing solutions.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Develop and maintain hearing device features to deliver user benefits and listening experiences
- Parameterize device functions using MATLAB, Simulink or Python and optimize for speech intelligibility and sound quality
- Apply AI methods to develop and optimize audiological features and evaluate DNN-based solutions
- Build firmware images and measure device performance in acoustic labs and dedicated setups
- Define metrics, evaluation methods and tests for sound quality and feature performance
- Create audio recordings and prepare stimuli for device testing
- Conduct experiments with subjects to assess subjective performance in real-world scenarios
- Contribute to feature integration and system verification, providing expert feedback on sound performance
- Collaborate with audiological research, signal processing, AI, data insights, and software engineering teams
- Support marketing with improvement ideas, claims metrics, competitive intelligence, and technical sound demos
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Higher-level degree in science or engineering (Electrical Engineering, Physics, Acoustics, Biomedical Engineering, or related)
- Strong knowledge in sound engineering, signal processing, acoustics, audiology, or electro-acoustic
- At least 3 years of professional experience in engineering, acoustics, or related R&D
- Skilled in MATLAB, Python, XML, and audio editing tools (e.g., Adobe Audition, ProTools, Reaper)
- Intellectually curious, proactive, solution-oriented with strong analytical thinking
- Collaborative, reliable, and able to build cross-team relationships
