Job Description

• Implement and integrate architectures or elements of architectures for data processing ground segments and their components with special emphasis on level 0, level 1, and level 2 near‑real‑time data processing.
• Maintain and evolve existing operational data processing ground segments applications or application components especially for those under configuration control.
• Provide expert advice for procurement and installation of software and coordinate software releases with external providers of support services.
• Generate formal project documentation.
• Provide on‑call support for monitoring and supporting operational teams in daily activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in IT or a relevant discipline.
• Strong background in analysis, troubleshooting, and verification of software issues and experience in maintaining complex real‑time software, especially using C++ and Java.
• Excellent technical writing skills, especially for formal technical documentation such as requirements, design documentation, test procedures, maintenance procedures.
• Experience with requirements management using DOORS.
• Experience with operational Earth Observation science data processing.
• Experience operating and maintaining software systems in Linux, AIX, and Solaris.
• Competence in software testing, unit test suite maintenance, automated testing, verification and validation.
• Experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Fluency in English mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
