We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with scripting knowledge to become a key member of our Data Programs team. This individual will provide both project management and technical (scripting/data analysis) support to engineering counterparts in the R&D department at SoundHound AI, with a focus on ensuring both timely delivery and thoughtful implementation of new technology, features, and frameworks. This is a high impact, cross-functional role.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide project management support for internal data and engineering projects and possibly interface with external vendors.
2. Develop and/or maintain scripts and code in support of data and engineering projects, including but not limited to language data management efforts.
3. Work with engineering teams to scope technical projects, create high-level roadmaps, determine resource requirements, and define milestones and timelines.
4. Create and/or utilize existing systems for prioritization, dependency, and risk management.
5. Initiate and facilitate ongoing collection of input from management, the project team, and relevant product teams.
6. Manage project meetings and documentation using Jira, Confluence, and Google products.
7. Collaborate effectively and continually work to set expectations and improve project visibility.
8. Adopt, improve upon, and create new tools and processes, establish metrics and operational best practices.
9. Maintain ongoing status updates and regular communication with management.
10. Foster a culture of productivity and professionalism, motivating the project team and promoting best practices.

Qualifications:

1. You have 5-8 years of experience and demonstrable success defining and/or managing the complete project lifecycle.
2. You are proficient with Atlassian and Google products and can successfully implement all aspects of agile.
3. You are familiar with Python, Unix, or other scripting languages.
4. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. You are a skilled problem solver with a good understanding of systems.
6. You are able to successfully navigate ambiguity and manage change in aspects of cross-team projects including resources, priorities, risks, and dependencies.
7. You exercise extreme attention to detail and can break down ambiguous requests or tasks.
8. You work independently and know when to follow escalation paths.
9. You are dedicated, reliable, and consistent with follow-through.
10. Remote work experience is beneficial and we’d be particularly thrilled if you are familiar with machine learning and/or linguistic concepts.

This role is available throughout Germany. Employees within a 100-kilometer radius of our Berlin office are expected to work from the office on three pre-scheduled “core days” each month to encourage cross-team connection and in-person collaboration. Aside from these office-specific “core days,” this job allows for virtual/remote, hybrid, and in-office workplace options.
