Legal Counsel - Investment - Renewable Energy in Hamburg

Job Ref: HP-3166 hamburg, Germany Competitive Offshore Wind PermanentLegal Counsel – Renewable Energy Investments Location: Hamburg Hybrid working Permanent, full-timeThe CompanyHunter Philips is supporting a renewable energy business seeking a Legal Counsel to advise on investments and project transactions across Europe.This opportunity offers close collaboration with investment and project teams, combining legal expertise with commercial decision-making as the business develops its renewable energy portfolio.The Role / ResponsibilitiesYou will provide legal support throughout the transaction lifecycle, from initial assessment and due diligence through negotiation and completion.Responsibilities include:Advising on acquisitions and disposals of European renewable energy projects.Drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction and commercial agreements.Coordinating external legal due diligence and translating findings into practical recommendations.Assessing legal risks and their commercial implications to support investment decisions.Advising project teams on energy law and permitting matters during development.Supporting colleagues on corporate and contractual issues.Managing external legal advisers across relevant jurisdictions.Keeping internal teams informed of legal developments affecting projects and transactions.The PersonA qualified lawyer, ideally with both German State Examinations and strong academic results.Approximately 4–5 years’ relevant experience in renewable energy and/or M&A, alongside corporate law expertise.Experience gained within a commercial law firm or an in-house legal team.Sound knowledge of corporate and contract law; energy law experience would be advantageous.Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex matters clearly.Commercial judgement and a practical approach to managing risk.Confidence working independently and collaborating with investment, project and management teams.Very good written and spoken German and English.ContactFor a confidential discussion, please contact:Nickie LynchHunter Philips Executive SearchEmail: nickie.lynch@hunterphilips.comNickie LynchRecruitment Consultant +44 161 240 3730 nickie.lynch@hunterphilips.com #J-18808-Ljbffr
