Head of Software Engineering

Your Responsibilities:

• Lead Spacetek’s software team
• Define new software features in collaboration with colleagues from sales, product and engineering
• Translate features into clear milestones, track their achievement and manage the release process
• Prepare documentation and reports to astandard of qualitysuitable for customer communication
• Ensure fully traceable and transparent software builds, releases and deployments
• Act as a though leader to drive software innovation, improving the functionality and capabilities ofSpacetek’s instruments
• Own Spacetek's full software stack from the FPGA to the UI level
• Work closely with the Data Science team to deploy analysis functionality and operate data management systems
• Support field engineers in ensuring the nominaloperation of instruments at customer sites
• Ensure the security of Spacetek’s software systems
• Manage software licenses and dependencies
• Support the management of internal IT infrastructure
• Promote software development best practices
• Stay informedabout the regulatoryenvironment and ensure compliance

Your Profile

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field with 8+ years of industry experience, including 3+ years managing software teams
• Proven track record in developing, deploying and managing industrial software as the lead
• Attention to detail and adrive to produce high-quality software
• In-depth knowledge of the use of AI in software engineering
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for solving complex technical problems as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Experience with scientific software and instrumentation is a plus
• Familiarity with FPGA programming is an advantage
• Fluent in English, proficiency is a plus

Spacetek is headquartered in Gümligen (a suburb of Bern) and has a branch office in Taiwan, with a team of 45 employees. This position is based at the headquarters in Gümligen (Bern). Start date to be agreed upon.
