Java/Kotlin Developer

We’re looking for a Java/Kotlin Developer to strengthen our support for the Essential Mod!

As a Developer, you will implement new features and UI screens for the Essential Mod. You will leverage your experience in developing Minecraft mods independently while being a collaborative team player.

Responsibilities

• Complete your onboarding to gain a comprehensive understanding of our mission, values, and operational procedures.
• Become familiar with our company policies and best practices.
• Understand software development principles and industry-standard tools such as Git, IntelliJ, Gradle, and Mixins.
• Build relationships with team members across all departments to gain a holistic view of our collaborative work environment.
• Explore new technologies and enhance existing features.
• Implement new features and UI screens for the Essential Mod.
• Create graphical user interfaces for Essential using Elementa, our open-source UI framework.

Requirements

• Skills in modifying Minecraft behaviour, either through server plug-ins or modding.
• Proficiency in writing Java code.
• Knowledge of Kotlin is preferred, but not required, as training will be provided if needed.
• Familiarity with software development principles and industry-standard tools such as Git, IntelliJ, Gradle, and Mixins.
• Comfort with Scrum methodologies; leadership or management experience is a plus.

What we offer

Additional information

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum commitment of 30 hours per week.
