Role overview
This is a senior leadership role focused on shaping and running the live-operations and monetization engine for an established mobile game. The position blends strategic product thinking with hands-on campaign execution, driving daily and weekly promotional cadences while running experiments that move core revenue and retention metrics. It is a hybrid role based in Barcelona, with on-site collaboration expected at least two days per week.
Responsibilities
- Define the live-ops vision and own the end-to-end promotional calendar, from campaign concept and creative production through launch QA, performance monitoring, and in-flight optimization.
- Audit the existing monetization design across pricing, segmentation, and perceived player value, then set the strategy that lifts revenue per user without harming player experience.
- Form hypotheses, design A/B tests, and translate analytical findings into shipped product changes that move average revenue per user, conversion, funnel, and churn.
- Build and document operational best practices that make the live-ops team faster, more reliable, and more data-driven.
- Partner with the features team to ensure live-ops requirements are scoped, prioritized, and delivered alongside new gameplay features.
- Align stakeholders across creative, analytics, engineering, and product to keep the cadence moving in a fast-changing environment.
Requirements
- Proven track record working as a Live-ops Manager on a game with a sustained, high-frequency promotional cadence.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with experience monitoring key revenue and engagement metrics and using them to drive decisions.
- Demonstrated success designing and interpreting A/B tests from hypothesis to live experiment.
- Comfort working in a volatile, fast-paced environment where priorities and live data shift quickly.
- Solid communication and stakeholder-alignment skills across cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
- Experience leading or mentoring live-ops managers and codifying team playbooks.
- Background in free-to-play mobile gaming with deep familiarity with segmentation and lifecycle monetization tactics.
