Now we are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test for PitchBook.
About the role
In this role, you will contribute to developing new valuable parts of the product for the end user by elevating testing to the next level. You’ll focus on improving code quality and ensuring the product is bug-free. This position involves tight cooperation with other teams to create a robust and supportable solution, offering practical experience with high load, multithreading, and concurrency.

Work Environment
Scrum-based Agile.
Work schedule – 10-19 UA time (adaptive)
Meetings with the distributed team for SDLC process organization.
As a qualified expert, You will:
Test Automation Development:
- Design, build, and maintain test automation frameworks for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
- Develop and execute automated test scripts to validate software functionality across various platforms (e.g., web, mobile, API).
- Identify, isolate, and document software defects, collaborating with developers to debug and resolve issues.
- Support a high level of documentation for services, algorithms, and functionality.
Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with development teams to understand application architecture and create effective test plans and test cases.
- Conduct root cause analysis for defects and recommend improvements in software and processes.
- Ensure end-to-end testing coverage and provide feedback to enhance product quality.
Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD):
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and reliable deployment.
- Work closely with the team to enhance test environments and deployment processes.
Collaboration:
- Partner with developers, product managers, and QA engineers to align on requirements, testing priorities, and goals.
- Advocate for best practices in test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and automated testing within the team.
Innovation and Improvement:
- Research and implement new tools and technologies to improve test efficiency and coverage.
- Identify and implement strategies to enhance testing processes, including risk-based testing, exploratory testing, and automation-first approaches.
We’re looking for you if you have
- 4+ years of experience in testing.
- Proficiency in one or several programming languages (Java, Python).
- Experience with various test methods and corresponding tools like MS Test, NUnit, TestNG, Selenium WebDriver, etc.
- Exposure to Behavior Driven Development (BDD).
- Understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD), event messaging, and SQL.
- Ability to find bottlenecks and thresholds in existing code using automation tools.
- High level of responsibility and ownership.
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- English — Intermediate (B1 and above), Ukrainian — fluent (both spoken and written).
Bonus Points
- Understanding a microservice architecture, and cloud solutions.
- Experience working with high-load distributed systems.
- Experience working on 3rd party integrations.
