This is an exciting opportunity for a fresh face to get a foot in the door and join an established specialised team in our funky Coburg office. We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, articulate person who will provide technical support to our clients.
Youâll be joining a skilled IT Helpdesk department, working alongside our L1/L2/L3 technicians in the day-to-day support of the systems that run our clientsâ businesses.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Please Note: This is an âEntry Levelâ position.
To secure this role, you will need good basic technical knowledge and problem-solving skills as well as enthusiasm to learn.
An interest/experience in computer hardware, operating systems, and applications and a history of helping others with computer-related issues is ideal.
Reporting to a team leader, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Be a first point of contact for our customers via phone support
- Diagnose hardware, operating system, and software issues and rectify as required, escalating higher-level issues to higher-level technicians as needed
- Support all aspects of Windows desktop and server operating systems and applications
- Setup and configuration of computers and peripheral equipment
- Support POS systems across our large client base
- Travel to client sites to provide IT support when/where required
- Participate in our rotating after-hours on-call roster once trained to an adequate skill level
- Time management and accountability
ABOUT YOU:
This will be your first full-time job in the IT industry.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and good personal presentation
- Ideally completed a recognised IT curriculum
- Strong Operating System knowledge
- Good Microsoft Office suite knowledge
- You are the family go-to âcomputer personâ or gamer with an active interest in learning more about computing and networking
- Polite phone manner
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Enthusiastic, curious, and possess a deep desire to learn more
- Ability to work as part of a team
- A positive attitude is a MUST
- Victorian Driver’s license
