- Own major features end to end, working closely with the design team from the decision through to release.
- Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key features.
- Review pull requests and provide feedback.
- Unblock the team when necessary.
- Standardize team-built features for common use.
- Maintain shared components in good working order.
- Change team processes where necessary.
- Decrease manual interventions for releases.
- Resolve recurring issues by changing underlying setups.
- Shift verification responsibilities to earlier stages in development.
- Organize planning to focus on informed decision-making processes.
- Determine review necessity for various tasks.
- Participate in interdisciplinary discussions.
- Handle critical issues and manage feature releases.
- Ensure junior engineers obtain meaningful work and learning opportunities.
Experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including team leadership or major project ownership.
- Proficiency in Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, and related technologies.
- Experience with background audio or other long-running background processes.
- Understanding of testing importance and limitations.
- Track record of effective team contributions.
- Ability to implement and sustain successful team changes.
- Familiarity with AI in team environments.
- Strong product design intuition and user empathy.
- Drive for improving app and codebase beyond specifications.
- Excellent communication skills.
