Quality Inspector in Chemnitz

Hours: 40 hours per week

Spencer Ogden is currently looking for an experienced Site Inspector / Quality Inspector to join a major energy infrastructure project in Chemnitz, Germany.

If you have a strong background in site quality control, electrical installations and large-scale construction projects, this is an opportunity to take on a key role within a high-profile project environment.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring construction and installation activities meet the required quality standards, identifying issues early and working closely with site teams, subcontractors and project stakeholders to drive quality through to completion.

What You'll Be Doing

As Site Inspector, you will play a hands-on role across the project, including:

• Carrying out quality control inspections across the construction site.
• Inspecting incoming equipment and components, including cables, battery containers, inverters and transformers.
• Checking installation quality across foundations, cable routes and electrical works.
• Monitoring civil works, cable pulling and electrical installation activities.
• Delivering inspections in line with ITPs, Hold Points and Witness Points.
• Monitoring subcontractor activities and ensuring works are completed to the required standards.
• Identifying, documenting and tracking defects and non-conformances.
• Supporting the preparation of deviation and non-conformance reports.
• Following up with contractors to ensure defects are properly rectified.
• Managing inspection records and quality documentation through Procore.
• Reviewing delivery notes, material certificates and test documentation.
• Maintaining project quality records and supporting As-Built documentation, including Redline reviews.
• Working closely with the Site Manager, Project Quality Manager, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Participating in regular site and construction meetings.

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for a quality‑focused professional who can operate confidently in a demanding construction environment.

You should have:

• 3-5+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control on major construction sites.
• A completed vocational qualification in Construction, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Technician/Master-level qualifications are advantageous.
• Additional Quality Management / Quality Control (QMB) training is desirable.
• Experience within energy infrastructure, substations, PV parks or similar large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of ITP, FQP and FQR processes.
• Excellent ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with S-Plan and/or EPLAN is highly desirable.
• An electrical planning background combined with site quality experience would be particularly valuable.
• Fluent German and good English communication skills.
