Construction Project Manager in Düsseldorf

Construction Project Manager in Düsseldorf

Düsseldorf Vollzeit Vor Ort
S

We are working with a leading international consultancy specialising in project management, cost management, and construction advisory services across the built environment.

With more than 65 offices worldwide, the business works across the public and private sectors, supporting clients through the delivery of complex construction and real estate projects. Its reputation is built on technical expertise, strong client relationships, and a commitment to delivering projects to the highest standards.

As the business continues to strengthen its German team, it is looking to bring in experienced construction professionals who want to take greater ownership of project delivery. This is an opportunity to join an established international organisation where construction management, commercial awareness, and client service come together.

Your new role

You will take responsibility for the delivery of refurbishment and new-build projects across the commercial, residential, and industrial sectors, overseeing projects from initial preparation through to completion and final handover.

Working closely with clients, contractors, specialist consultants, and project teams, you will play a central role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

This is a hands-on role offering genuine responsibility across both the technical and commercial aspects of construction, with the opportunity to influence project outcomes rather than simply monitor progress.

You will:

  • Lead the delivery of construction projects from preparation through to turnkey handover.
  • Manage contractors and coordinate construction activities across multiple disciplines.
  • Monitor programme, costs, quality, and overall project performance, identifying and resolving issues before they impact delivery.
  • Oversee valuations, variations, additional works, cost reporting, and commercial performance.
  • Develop and maintain construction programmes, tracking planned versus actual progress.
  • Support procurement, tendering, and contract award processes.
  • Ensure compliance with German construction regulations, health and safety requirements, and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, project managers, designers, and specialist consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage inspections, commissioning, defect resolution, and final project handover.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Several years of construction management and on-site experience in Germany.
  • A good understanding of German construction law and the VOB.
  • Strong technical and commercial understanding, with experience managing programmes, budgets, contractors, and project delivery.
  • Confidence coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and relevant construction software.
  • Very good German and English language skills.
  • A proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach, with the flexibility to travel within Germany.

What we're offering

You will join an established international consultancy that combines the resources and opportunities of a global business with a collaborative working culture and relatively flat hierarchies.

The role offers the chance to take ownership of challenging construction projects, broaden your technical and commercial expertise, and develop your career within a business that invests in its people.

Alongside a varied workload and a high degree of autonomy, the package includes a company car for private use, modern IT equipment, a company mobile phone, bicycle leasing, and opportunities for professional development and international career progression.

For an experienced Bauleiter looking to take the next step, or a Project Manager seeking greater responsibility within an international consultancy, this is an opportunity to build on your experience while contributing directly to successful project delivery.
