Overview
Spencer Ogden is recruiting for an experienced Project Quality Manager to support the successful delivery of large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Germany.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
This role focuses on implementing robust quality management processes, conducting audits, managing inspections, and driving continuous improvement to ensure contractual, regulatory, and customer requirements are consistently met.
Working closely with engineering, procurement, construction, suppliers, and clients, the Project Quality Manager will play a key role in safeguarding product and service quality while proactively managing project risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project-specific Quality Management Plans in line with customer requirements and ISO standards.
- Ensure compliance with contractual quality obligations and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Plan and conduct internal and supplier quality audits, managing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) in accordance with project and customer requirements.
- Oversee Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure all quality documentation is completed and maintained.
- Support project risk assessments and implement quality‑related mitigation measures.
- Provide quality training and guidance to project teams.
- Monitor, analyse, and report quality performance metrics to internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all project quality matters with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
- Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional fluency in both German and English.
- Minimum of 5–7 years' experience in quality management within large‑scale industrial, infrastructure, or energy projects.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and associated quality management standards.
- Experience conducting supplier and internal quality audits.
- Quality Auditor certification (e. g. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) is highly desirable.
- Experience working within EPC projects.
- Familiarity with German regulatory standards.
- Experience within Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy, or wider energy infrastructure projects is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems/tools.
