We are looking for an experienced and self-driven Controller to take ownership of our financial controlling processes across projects.### Your roleYou will independently manage controlling tasks across active projects and own financial reporting. You work closely with project managers and senior management, and bring the structure and judgment to operate with a high degree of autonomy.### The kind of stuff you`ll be doing### Who are we looking for### Main responsibilities#### Recurring Controlling Tasks* Perform monthly and quarterly controlling routines: data collection, plausibility checks, and report updates.* Own and further develop financial templates and reporting frameworks; ensure they reflect current project and cost data at all times.* Monitor plans vs. actuals vs. budget across projects, analyze deviations, and proactively recommend corrective actions to project leadership and management.### Project Handover Preparation* Lead the financial handover process at the transition from financial planning phase to active project start, and take responsibility for completeness and quality.* Compile budget baselines, cost plans, and cashflow projections into clear, team-ready documents.* Coordinate with project managers and leads to ensure all financial assumptions are correctly transferred and understood.* Maintain handover templates and continuously improve documentation quality.### Project Controlling* Conduct ongoing project controlling for active development titles: tracking costs, milestones, and budget consumption.* Prepare regular project status reports and variance analyses for the project leadership and management.* Drive cost allocation and ensure expenses are correctly assigned to the right projects and cost centers.### The ideal candidate also has one more of the following### Your Daily Work### Your Profile*Controlling & Finance** 3-5 years of experience in controlling or finance* Solid understanding of financial concepts, including budgeting, cost accounting, and cashflow planning* Able to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize without close supervision*Excel Skills** Solid Excel skills (also without AI)* Ability to work with existing templates, fill them correctly, and spot formula errors* Comfortable building clean calculation structures from scratch* Attention to data consistency*Language Skills** Very good English skills are required* German B2 or better*Analytical Thinking** Able to follow and verify multi-step financial calculations independently* Strong attention to detail: you notice when something does not add up and you investigate* Structured way of working: your documents can be presented and understood by non-finance stakeholders* Experienced in communicating financial results and risks clearly to non-finance stakeholders and management### Responsibilities### Benefits### Your Profile### Preferred qualifications### The ideal candidate also has### You have### You are### What we offer### Bonus Points* Exposure to project-based controlling or milestone billing structures* Knowledge of Power Query or Power BI### Bonus Points### Skills & TechnologiesFinancial ControllingBudgetingCost AccountingCashflow PlanningVariance AnalysisMicrosoft ExcelPower QueryPower BIProject ControllingEnglish and German CommunicationSponsoredExplore Biotech CareersDiscover roles at companies advancing healthcare and life sciences.Explore biotech jobs →Want to reach sports tech professionals?
