VP Finance (m/w/d)

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Planning & Analysis : Perform financial planning and forecasting activities, providing detailed analysis to support strategic decision making and financial oversight. You will ensure that the company’s financial strategy is aligned with our growth objectives.
• Controlling & Financial Reporting : Develop and implement robust financial reporting systems and processes to provide clear visibility into financial performance. You will work to establish a streamlined financial reporting framework that supports informed decision making.
• Debt financing : Establish debt financing for our metering business to support our growth. You will work on financing initiatives and maintain relationships with potential funding partners.
• Fundraising : Work with our founder Jochen on funding rounds, conducting in-depth financial analysis, preparing pitch materials. You will help position SpotmyEnergy as an attractive investment prospect.
• Flexibility & Adaptability: As part of an early stage startup, your role may vary from day to day. You will contribute to various aspects of the business beyond finance, helping to solve different challenges as they arise.

The Job

As a VP Finance (m/w/d) at SpotmyEnergy, you will be pivotal in building the financial backbone of a fast-growing energy startup. At this Seed Stage, your role will encompass a wide range of financial responsibilities that directly impact the growth and strategic direction of the company. You will work closely with the founder (serial founder, former >100M€ exit) and the leadership team to drive financial planning, build financial processes and support fundraising efforts. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with a strong finance background and an entrepreneurial mindset who wants to make a significant impact in the early days (<20 FTE) of a company with high growth potential.

• Financial Skills : You have a strong analytical mindset and a solid foundation in financial principles. You bring a structured, methodical approach to financial and strategic challenges.
• Entrepreneurial Spiri t: You are excited by the pace and energy of a startup environment and demonstrate initiative and resilience. You thrive on autonomy and have a hands-on approach that is essential for success.
• Proactive & Results-Oriented : You focus on high-impact priorities, have strong attention to detail, and approach work with a sense of urgency. Your drive to achieve results is evident, especially when supporting fundraising and financial planning.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management: You are comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, including internal teams and external investors. You communicate clearly and foster alignment in complex discussions.
• Experience welcome: 5-8 years of experience in a fast-paced, high performance environment, such as consulting, investment banking, or a high-growth startup. Energy or sustainability experience is a plus, but not required. We welcome candidates from diverse professional backgrounds who bring a fresh perspective.
