About the Role

We are seeking a (Senior) Project Manager to support the Eastern Europe Extended Journals team.

The portfolio includes 35 Consultants Bureau hybrid and subscription journals, 8 fully Open Access or Hybrid journals, and 181 hybrid journals distributed in cooperation with Pleiades Publishing.

This is a temporary position available for twelve months.

The Project Manager/Senior Project Manager is a wide-ranging role which is essential to the smooth running of several workflow transformation projects in the partnership journals portfolio. This is an internal and external facing role, managing client and third parties expectations and internal responsibilities. The (Senior) Project Manager will work horizontally across the teams, including publishing, reporting, legal, production colleagues and prepare ad hoc analyses, reports, as well as plan and implement specific requirements.

Role responsibilities:

Project Management

Successfully deliver assigned projects in terms of managing tight deadlines, communicating with different internal and external stakeholders, delivering administrative tasks, managing various systems, and coordinating project documentations, analyses and reports.

  • Manage project within tight project deadlines and with high standards
  • Take on delegated work from the project team, liase with internal and external stakeholders, move project forward despite uncertainty
  • Communicate with stakeholders in a clear and coherent way and build up good rapport relationship with them
  • Process and consolidate project documentation and materials, monitor project performance
  • Generate reports, and circulate to relevant stakeholders
  • Support journals’ onboarding, offboarding, transition to Springer Nature standard workflows.
  • Communication and handling of general enquiries with external partners, including editors, editorial boards, societies, authors, etc.
  • Provide other support to the project teams as needed

Experience, skills and qualifications:

Essential

  • Educated to a university degree level or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills in English both written and oral
  • Knowledge of scientific publishing industry
  • Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills – excellent attention to detail and the ability to see things through to completion.
  • Knowledge of A&I services (Web of Science, Scopus, Dimensions) and its analytic capabilities
  • Willingness to learn and ability to grasp things quickly
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail, able to prioritize numerous tasks
  • Ability to work well in a team, demonstrating strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Be resourceful and proactive in dealing with problems and queries
  • Computer literate – understands common software (e.g. Microsoft Office suite) and gains new software skills quickly

Desirable

  • Proven record of project management or customer service experience
  • Knowledge of Springer Nature reporting tools (Delilah, Google Big Query, Looker Dashboards, etc.)
  • High levels of resilience and self-motivation and able to self-management and deliver to committed timescale.
