Chief Information Security Officer

My client are a fast-growing consultancy firm headquartered in Munich, trusted by leading enterprises to help them navigate complex cybersecurity and compliance challenges. They combine strategic insight with deep technical expertise to deliver tailored security solutions across industries — from financial services to manufacturing.

Role Overview

I am seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Cyber Security / CISO to lead both the internal security initiatives and external client engagements. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for shaping our cyber strategy, guiding clients through complex risk environments, and growing a high-performing team of consultants.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the company’s internal cybersecurity strategy and governance
• Act as the senior advisor on cybersecurity matters for key clients
• Build and manage a team of consultants delivering GRC, risk assessment, incident response, and technical security services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align security initiatives with business goals
• Stay ahead of emerging threats, regulatory changes (e.g., NIS2, DORA), and technology trends
• Support business development by contributing to proposals, tenders, and client pitches

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior cyber security leadership role, ideally in consultancy or advisory services
• Strong understanding of information security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, etc.) and regulatory requirements
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business advice
• Leadership experience managing and mentoring security teams
• Excellent communication skills in English; German fluency is a strong plus
• Must be based in Germany and willing to travel to Munich as needed
