PhD Student (f/m/d) Pre-clinical development and validation of Adapter-RevCAR‐T-cell-system for immunotherapy of melanoma

At the Institute of Radiopharmaceutical Cancer Research, scientists (f/m/d) from the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, pharmacy, immunology, medicine and IT develop innovative radiopharmaceuticals and novel tools for functional characterization, improved imaging and personalized treatment of tumors.
The Department of Radioimmunology is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) for the pre-clinical development and validation of the Adapter-RevCAR‐T-cell-system for immunotherapy of melanoma.
Recruitment is subject to final approval by the project sponsor. In the 2nd year, there is the option of increasing the weekly working hours to 75%.
Responsibilities:
- Generation and characterization of RevCAR-expressing human T-cells on a laboratory scale
- Design, generation and characterization of RevCAR targeting molecules (RevTMs) targeting different melanoma markers
- Testing the functionality and efficiency of novel RevTMs in combination with RevCAR-T-cells (RevCAR-T-cell-systems) for monospecific targeting of melanoma cells using 2D and 3D spheroid in vitro models and/or mouse models
- Generation of Dual-RevCAR-T-cells and their functional validation in combination with two different RevTMs (Dual-RevCAR-T-cell approach) for targeting of two melanoma markers (combinatorial melanoma targeting) using 2D and/or 3D spheroid in vitro models and/or mouse models
Your Profile:
- Completed university studies (Master/Diploma) in the field of Biology, Biotechnology, (Bio-) Chemistry or related field
- Solid knowledge of immunology, protein biochemistry and/or immunotherapy as well as good skills/experience in molecular biology, protein biochemistry, generation of recombinant proteins, working with cell cultures, flow cytometry and in vitro co-culture assays and willingness to work with experimental mice
- Be fascinated by scientific research and innovation, be motivated, enthusiastic and eager to learn, be able to work methodically and accurately, be able to work independently yet also being a team player, have a creative mind and strong problem-solving skills, and have good writing and oral expression
- Fluent written and spoken English skills
