Job Overview

With the increased focus on extending our client relationships, Standard Chartered Bank is currently looking for a Director, Associate Relationship Banker (m/w/d) to join our Frankfurt office. Reporting directly to Head of International Corporates, the successful candidate will be responsible for client relationships with Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The position is that of a strategic advisor to the client, accountable for the overall group revenues, profitability and risk acceptance. The individual is responsible for establishing and maintaining an end to end understanding of the client group structure and client needs/steering, as well as for enhancing the client relationship.

Key responsibilities

  1. Facilitate origination and client relationship management for a portfolio of International Corporate Clients (jointly with other Relationship Managers)
  2. Active engagement and high level (‚C‘ suite) contacts with senior executives within clients
  3. Work closely with product partners and Industry groups
  4. Focus on a range of Corporate banking products and services to expand the client base
  5. Maintain a strong working relationship with Credit, Legal and Compliance and other key stakeholders
  6. Accountability for delivering financial performance objectives (revenues, costs, RoRWA, etc)
  7. Accountability for all other objectives for the management and development of client relationships, specifically compliance (AML, CDD) and credit risk.

Skills and experience

  1. Business fluency in German and English is mandatory
  2. Graduate degree (degree in Banking or Finance preferred)
  3. Ideally 6+ years of relevant experience with Clients in the banking industry
  4. Deep understanding and knowledge of products (TB, FM, Risk, DCM)
  5. Risk & AML certified as stipulated by Bank policy
  6. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
