Financial Accountant – Commodity Trading

Looking for an accounting role where you own the full picture rather than a single process? Our client, a Geneva-based commodity trading group, is looking for a Financial Accountant to take responsibility for the accounts of its group companies, from daily bookings to IFRS financial statements.

What you'll do
Day-to-day accounting
- Bookkeeping for the group companies, invoice booking and payment requests
- Cash transactions and bank reconciliations
- Follow‑up of overdue invoices
Group and trading specifics
- Calculation and booking of intercompany interest
- Monthly intercompany reconciliations and settlements
- Reconciliations with clearing-house accounts
Closing and reporting
- Monthly and year-end closing for all group companies
- Preparation of financial statements under IFRS, Swiss statutory requirements and management reporting
- Analytical review of balance sheet and P&L
- Preparing for and leading the annual audits
What you bring
- A degree in accounting, finance or a related field and a professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, Swiss Certified Expert, French DEC/DSCG) is a strong advantage.
- At least 3 years of hands‑on experience covering the full accounting cycle, gained in industry, an audit firm or a multinational.
- Solid IFRS knowledge: you can illustrate the standards with concrete cases you have handled.
- Commodity trading experience is a plus, not a prerequisite. Strong technical accounting matters most.
- Advanced Excel and fluent English.
- Sound judgement, rigour, and the ability to see the big picture while drilling into detail.
