Are you ready to join us?
Tasks:
- You will contribute to Statista’s Data Production mission to build an automated, at scale production machine for high-value data to empower the biggest corporates and AI-builders in the world.
- You will lead a Data Ops team with ~4 Data Engineers plus students both disciplinarily and professionally, focusing on “Data Sourcing.”
- Your team’s mission is to extract data from various sources at scale, automate processes using AI tools, store the data in a data lake environment, and process and structure it for further use or publication.
- You will be part of our Data Ops leadership team and jointly decide on strategic topics such as data value contribution, data production steering, AI & automation, and tech stack (currently: Python, BeautifulSoup, Selenium, SQL (Postgres), Docker, AWS, Airflow).
- You’ll set the objectives for your team, manage all aspects of delivery, and operationally contribute to high-priority projects in your area of responsibility.
- You’ll coordinate internally with stakeholders who require automated sourcing processes, sourced data from your team, or ingestion of large amounts of data.
Profile:
- You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Operations, or a similar field in a relevant context and have successfully led teams before.
- You have start-up-like motivation to shape an ambitious growth strategy and build a global data player out of Germany.
- You are perceived as a role model for tech and coding expertise and will be asked for advice and code review by colleagues.
- Your ways of working are shaped by working independently yet well-aligned; you are well-structured and organized yet impact-driven and pragmatic; you are a team player and want to “win together.”
