Senior Engineer, Data Engineering

We are searching for a highly skilled and passionate Senior Data Engineer to join their growing team and play a pivotal role in building robust and scalable data infrastructure. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, building, monitoring, and scaling critical data engineering pipelines. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of their data systems, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation. This is a hybrid role based in vibrant Berlin, offering the perfect blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. Deep Expertise in Data Engineering: Proven experience in the end-to-end design, development, monitoring, and scaling of complex data engineering pipelines. Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, including designing, scheduling, and managing intricate data pipelines. Modern Data Programming: Proficient in modern data programming languages, including Python, Go, or similar. Extensive hands-on experience with leading cloud platforms, specifically AWS and GCP. Data Warehousing Know-How: Familiarity with modern data warehousing technologies, including Google BigQuery and Snowflake. SQL & DBT Wizardry: Highly proficient in SQL for diverse data sources, with a strong understanding and hands-on experience leveraging tools like DBT for data modelling, schema design, incremental strategies, and query optimisation. Experience with Looker and LookML, with a focus on data preparation and modelling to support insightful analysis and efficient visualisations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
