Role Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Field Application Scientist (FAS) to provide technical expertise in 3D Spatial Biology, customer training, and scientific support for our Pyxa instrument, assays, and software.
Location
This is a Europe-based, field-facing role with responsibility for customer training and support across the region. The position is home‑office based, with preference for candidates located in Central or Western Europe and within easy access of a major international airport.
Responsibilities
- Customer Training & Support:
- Coordinate and conduct customer site training sessions and product demonstrations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to user skills, assay design, experimental setup, software, and instrumentation.
- Identify, document, and escalation customer issues, complaints, or concerns to the management team.
- Support Product Development teams with testing and verification of Pyxa instrument, analysis software, consumables and reagents.
- Keep customers informed about advancements in Stellaromics Pyxa instrument, assays, and software.
- Scientific Collaboration & Customer Engagement:
- Partner with customers to integrate Stellaromics’ technology into their research workflows.
- Engage in scientific discussions with customers, fostering long‑term relationships.
- Gather and communicate customer feedback, competitive insights, and emerging use cases to Stellaromics’ Marketing and Product Development teams.
- Support the field sales team at customer sites, trade shows, seminars, and scientific symposiums through technical presentations and networking.
- Technical Writing & Documentation:
- Contribute to white papers, training materials, and knowledge base documentation to expand Stellaromics’ customer support content.
- Maintain accurate customer site records and provide high‑level feedback to management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education & Experience:
- Ph.D. (preferred) or equivalent experience (e.g., B.S. with ~5 years or M.S. with ~3 years) in Cellular Biology, Pathology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Genetics.
- Previous customer‑facing experience in a similar scientific/technical role.
- Technical Expertise:
- Experience in histology, cellular pathology, and imaging techniques.
- Hands‑on knowledge of cryosectioning, microtomy, tissue embedding, and tissue handling preferred.
- Strong knowledge of molecular biology, genomics, tissue imaging and data analysis techniques.
- Experience with spatial transcriptomics and related methodologies.
- Customer Interaction & Problem‑Solving:
- Clear commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve corporate objectives.
- Ability to handle high‑pressure situations with professionalism and composure.
- Communication & Presentation Skills:
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Outstanding presentation and training abilities to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with CRM software for customer management and reporting.
- Travel Requirements:
- Frequent travel within Europe is required to deliver onsite training, support new instrument installations, provide application troubleshooting, and build strong customer relationships. Expected travel is approximately 50‑70%, with flexibility based on customer and business needs. Occasional international travel may be required for internal meetings, training, and other company activities.
