Overview
In this role you will own firmware for Stenon’s soil sensor system, turning hardware measurements into reliable field-ready data. You will collaborate with hardware, optics, and mechanical teams to deliver robust, power-efficient firmware that handles sensors, data processing, and field communication. You’ll contribute to the full device lifecycle from prototype to deployment in challenging outdoor environments. This is a hands-on, impact-driven opportunity to advance real-time soil analytics for farmers worldwide.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Develop and debug firmware for soil measurement devices
- Create software and hardware tools for diagnostics, testing, and validation
- Interface sensors to MCU or SOM
- Document code and participate in design/code reviews
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to define interfaces and protocols
- Assist with hardware-related software troubleshooting
- Support bring-up and debugging of circuit boards
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- 3-5 years of relevant embedded firmware experience
- Expert knowledge of C/C++
- Experience with bare-metal firmware on STM32 (STM32CubeIDE, RTOS a plus)
- Strong understanding of ARM architecture and peripherals
- Experience with embedded communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN; USB/ISOBUS/SMBus a plus)
- Extensive experience writing sensor drivers
- Proficiency with Git and build pipelines
- Comfort with Linux shell and reading datasheets
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and lab equipment skills (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers)
- Preferred: knowledge of Python
