Global Marketing Dairy Internship

Description:

STgenetics® Global Marketing Team is looking for an optimistic, self-driven and detail oriented individual to join their team as their 2024Summer Semester Intern. This internship offers a hands-on experience for students who have passion for dairy genetics, technology and programs that can help dairy producers achieve a more profitable and sustainable future. This intern position will assist the Global Marketing Team in content creation, assist in social media and blog creation and other marketing and communication related projects, assisting in photo shoots at partner herds and helping prepare cattle for set photo shoots. Representing STgenetics® at industry events and with clients, the Global Marketing Intern will need to uphold a high level of professionalism that reflects the values of STgenetics®. The intern position is a work from home opportunity with some travel required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interact with clients through written, verbal and in person interactions
• Develop content for social media and website
• Article creation for weekly newsletter and other special projects
• Assist in the editing process of written projects
• Assist with content creation at daughter photo shoots
• Maintain a professional image reflective of STgenetics® core values
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education Requirements:

Students must have completed their sophomore year of undergraduate studies in either Animal Science or Agricultural Communications or a related degree. It is preferred for student to have working knowledge of the dairy industry including but not limited to genetics, show industry, farm management technology. Students in the Wisconsin and Iowa regions preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Environment will vary from home office, on-farm work and industry events. Ability to stand for long periods of time and carry on conversations with clients. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Travel will be necessary.

Other skills/experience:

• Knowledge of the dairy industry and genetic technology highly desired
• Knowledge and/or experience with social media business accounts
• High degree of professionalism is required
• Excellent communication, organizations and time management skills
• Strong communication and written skillset
• Passion for dairy industry, serving clients and working within a diverse team
• Ability to work professionally from home
• Experience fitting and grooming dairy cattle highly desired
