Head of Education (m/f/d)

St. George’s School seeks a highly qualified Head of Education to join the group in January or August 2027.

This group-wide leadership role is responsible for educational development and quality assurance across all three St. George’s schools in Germany and offers a hybrid working arrangement, with regular travel between the schools as required.

The Schools

St. George’s School is a group of three international schools located in Cologne, Düsseldorf Rhein-Ruhr and Munich, serving a diverse international community of pupils aged 2–18. Together, the schools provide an enriching educational experience, combining the English National Curriculum with internationally recognised qualifications, including the IB Diploma and, in Munich, IGCSEs.

With a strong focus on academic excellence, pastoral care and a family-oriented ethos, St. George’s offers a welcoming and supportive environment for pupils and staff alike. Across all three campuses, the school group provides exciting opportunities for professional development, collaboration and growth.

The Location

Located across three vibrant German cities, St. George’s School offers excellent transport links and access to diverse international communities. Each campus benefits from convenient connections to city centres and wider regional networks, with access to major airports and rail services connecting to the UK and other European destinations.

Cologne and Düsseldorf are situated in the dynamic Rhine-Ruhr region, known for its cultural diversity, international outlook and high standard of living. Munich, located close to the Alps, combines a thriving cultural scene with outstanding opportunities for outdoor activities and leisure.

All three locations offer an excellent quality of life, rich cultural experiences and convenient opportunities for travel and exploration across Germany and Europe.

The Role

The Head of Education is a group-wide leadership role responsible for the strategic development, quality assurance and continuous improvement of educational provision across all three St. George’s schools in Germany. Reporting directly to the Executive Board, the role ensures consistent educational standards and drives school improvement across the group. As a new position, it offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced education professional to shape the role, make a meaningful contribution across the organisation and continue to grow professionally within a senior, strategic capacity.

The postholder leads the development of group-wide educational policies, curriculum, assessment, inclusion, safeguarding and pastoral provision. They oversee quality assurance, educational projects, professional development and accreditation.

Working closely with School Directors and educational leaders, the Head of Education provides guidance and constructive challenge, promotes collaboration and shares best practice to ensure high-quality educational experiences and outcomes for all pupils.
