Freelance Celonis Data Engineer
Location: 100% remote (optional travel days to client sites in Germany)
Start: October 2026
Duration: 2 months, with an extension planned into 2027

About the project
We're supporting a client with Celonis implementation. We're looking for an experienced freelance Celonis Data Engineer to join the project team. You'll build object-centric data models, turn process insights into automated actions, and work closely with business stakeholders to deliver measurable value.
Your responsibilities
- Design and build object-centric data models in Celonis, including object types, events, relationships and the SQL transformations behind them.
- Integrate and model data from source systems, ideally SAP ECC or S/4HANA, including data jobs, delta loads and data quality checks.
- Develop and implement automations with the Celonis Orchestration Engine and Action Flows.
- Build KPIs, Knowledge Models and analyses using PQL and Celonis Studio.
- Work with business stakeholders to define, prioritise and deliver process mining use cases.
- Where needed, coordinate implementation workstreams and support other team members.
Required skills
- At least 2 years of hands‑on experience in Celonis implementation projects.
- Proven experience with object‑centric data modelling in Celonis.
- Hands‑on experience with the Orchestration Engine and Action Flows.
- Strong SQL and PQL skills.
- Experience integrating ERP data into Celonis.
- Fluent German(ideal scenario) and English.
Nice to have
- Python (e.g. PyCelonis) and machine learning knowledge.
- Experience leading implementation teams or workstreams.
- Experience defining use cases directly with customers.
- Celonis certifications (e.g. Data Engineer, Solution Engineer).
- Background in automotive or manufacturing processes.
