Your Responsibilities
- Participation in the development of elite breeding components
- Collecting phenotypic data in the field at European sites
- Carrying out plant selection in the field with a seasonal focus
- Statistical evaluation and visualization of data
- Support in the field of data management and data sciences
- Close cooperation with employees at various global breeding sites to ensure the implementation of the defined activities
- Travel activity with up to 30% including longer stays in other European countries
- Supervision of internal research projects
- Participation in research projects in cooperation with various private and public organizations
Your Profile
- M.Sc. in plant breeding, plant genetics, plant sciences, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of plant genetics and its application in breeding programs
- Knowledge and application of quantitative genetics and population genetics
- Knowledge of breeding methods and breeding schemes
- Familiarity with the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of breeding results
- Fundamental statistical knowledge and proficiency in using databases and MS Office
- Flexibility to adapt workflows to the seasonal requirements of plant breeding
- Willingness and physical fitness to conduct fieldwork during summer and autumn
- Team player
- Very good language skills in German and English
- Category B driving licence
