Studio Manager Description
Studio Simon Denny is looking for a motivated studio manager to oversee the day-to-day operations at the studio, manage the general organisation and support the strategic direction of the artist. The studio is located in Berlin Steglitz. This is a part-time role.
Areas of responsibility
- Working closely with the artist in all operational capacities as needed to implement the artist's vision and actualise projects
- Liaison to external partners, museums and galleries
- Project coordination, e.g. development of project roadmaps, budget calculations, managing project schedules
- Production management. Material and fabricator research, supporting the development of artistic production, overseeing fabrication
- Managing the artist's calendar and travel
- Overseeing logistics, booking and managing transport and storage of artworks
- Maintaining and updating a digital database and the studio website
- Strategic planning in teamwork with the artist and accountant
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written German and English
- Organisational talent and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities at once
- Experience working with and knowledge of contemporary art
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision
- Proven ease of establishing relationships with new contractors/fabricators
- Comfortable with a wide variety of tasks and responsibilities
- Desired: background in project/production/studio management
- Desired: comfortable with handling artworks
