Addiction Switzerland is a national non-profit foundation committed to the prevention and reduction of problems related to addictive behaviour. At the interface of research, prevention, and policy, we actively participate in societal debates and convey scientifically based findings.
For our research department, we are looking for a dedicated individual to lead nationally significant research projects with high visibility, develop new scientific initiatives, and actively shape the future of our research.
Your Responsibilities:
In this responsible role, you will take charge of and further develop a portfolio of scientific research projects. This includes major national projects such as the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study, the Cann-L pilot trial, and the Tobacco Marketing Observatory (OMATA).
You will play a key role within our research department and actively shape national research projects of high societal relevance. You will report directly to the Head of Research and work closely with an interdisciplinary and bilingual team.
- Leading, coordinating, and implementing complex research projects from planning to successful completion - Further developing existing research areas as well as acquiring new research projects and third-party funding - Preparing funding applications and participating in national calls - Ensuring project quality regarding time, budget, and risks - Analysing and interpreting scientific data as well as writing research reports and scientific publications - Presenting research results to professionals, authorities, funding institutions, and other stakeholders - Providing professional support and coordination of scientific staff within project teams - Maintaining and expanding long-term collaborations with public institutions and project funders (Federal Office of Public Health, cantonal authorities, foundations, etc.)
Your Profile
You have a solid scientific education and experience in leading demanding research projects. You enjoy working independently, take responsibility, and are confident in interacting with various stakeholders.
You bring the following qualifications:
- University degree (Master’s or PhD) in Public Health, Social Sciences, Social Psychology, or a comparable field - Several years of professional experience in scientific research and in leading complex research projects - Excellent knowledge of quantitative research methods and experience with statistical software such as SPSS, R, or STATA - Native-level German or French and excellent knowledge of the other language (at least C1) - Very good editorial skills and the ability to prepare complex scientific content appropriately for the target audience - Independent, structured, and careful working style with strong organisational skills
Additionally advantageous:
- Experience in successfully acquiring research projects and third-party funding - Leadership experience or experience in the professional management of interdisciplinary teams - Knowledge in the field of addiction, public health, or health promotion - Good English skills
