Our client is a start up trading comany in the commodities sector. They are building out a trading desk on blockchain and ledger technology, and they need their first Middle Office hire.
This is a junior role with real breadth. You’ll join a small team, working directly with the CEO and the trader. Processes are only now being set up, so you’ll help design how things are done from a blank page.
What you’ll do:
- Balance the general ledger and reconcile the trading books
- Handle day-to-day technical accounting
- Monitor positions against risk limits and investigate any breaches
- Cover the trading desk and support daily middle office operations
- Build and document middle office processes from scratch
- Use Excel, macros, VBA and AI tools to automate routine work
What you’ll bring:
- Early-career experience in accounting, risk management or middle office within a trading environment
- A solid understanding of how trading works
- Strong Excel skills, including macros and VBA
- Comfortable using AI tools day to day
- Organised, curious and happy to build processes yourself
- You should be fluent in English, German is an advantage
- Digital assets or crypto experience is a plus, but not essential
