Strategic Purchasing Manager - Direct Materials

We are supporting a dynamic manufacturing business in their search for a Strategic Purchasing Manager focused on Direct Materials. This is a high-impact position where you’ll lead purchasing strategies, manage critical supplier relationships, and drive performance across both local and global supply chains.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing initiatives for Direct Materials across core production lines.
• Manage strategic purchasing for high-value components, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency.
• Drive supplier selection, contract negotiations, and risk management strategies.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, operations, and engineering on new product initiatives.
• Identify innovation opportunities and push for continuous improvement in the supply base.

Your Profile

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business-related field.
• 5–10 years of strategic procurement experience within manufacturing.
• Strong expertise in Direct Materials sourcing—especially within complex production environments.
• Proven track record in supplier development and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
• Fluent in German and English (both required).
