Location: Remote micro1 is engaging CAD Data Generation & Validation Specialists (Free CAD) to collaborate on a dynamic customer project focused on CAD data creation, editing, and rigorous model assessment.

In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems.

No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals passionate about technical precision and the intersection of computer-aided design, Python scripting, and mechanical engineering.

Contributors will be instrumental in producing exemplary CAD models and thorough documentation that meet strict engineering and manufacturing standards.

  • Scope of Work
  • Generate, modify, and optimize parametric CAD models using Free CAD according to customer and project specifications.
  • Develop Python scripts to automate and streamline CAD workflows, ensuring reproducibility and scalability of model generation.
  • Conduct comprehensive validation of CAD models, checking geometric accuracy, adherence to GD&T principles, and compliance with engineering constraints.
  • Document modeling processes, decisions, and validation steps, producing clear, high-quality technical deliverables.
  • Review and critique CAD data submissions for consistency, manufacturability, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Collaborate asynchronously via written and verbal channels, communicating detailed technical feedback and improvement proposals.
  • Support the creation of reference datasets used to train and evaluate AI models in mechanical and industrial engineering contexts.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Expert proficiency in Free CAD, with a track record of sophisticated parametric modeling for mechanical or industrial applications.
  • Advanced Python skills, particularly as applied to CAD automation, customization, and data validation.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, engineering documentation standards, and manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) in CAD workflows.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in validating CAD data for accuracy, completeness, and engineering quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration and documentation.
  • Prior experience contributing to projects involving AI data generation or technical dataset curation is a plus.
