Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong hunter mindset, high commercial energy, a credible network in the Bavarian medtech ecosystem, and the ability to spot where custom software, hardware, data, and AI solutions create business value for medtech clients. This is not a standard account-management role, nor is it a sales role built around pre-qualified leads. Your focus is new-logo acquisition: identifying prospects, opening doors, shaping opportunities, and closing deals with new medtech clients. Once a client or project is won, you will typically transition the relationship to the client management team with a strong commercial handover. Zühlke does not sell pre-made solutions. We are a technology partner for custom software, hardware, embedded systems, AI, data, and product development. Your challenge is to connect these capabilities to concrete client needs and translate them into value propositions customers understand. How you will make an impact You thrive on the hunt. Up to 50% travel is anticipated; you enjoy being where your clients are, building relationships face to face, and staying close to the local medtech ecosystem. Your network is your advantage. You know how to activate trusted regional relationships to create meaningful client conversations. You are entrepreneurial. You bring the creativity and curiosity to spot where custom technology capabilities can create real client value. You understand medtech. You are commercially fluent in regulated product-development environments, know when to involve technical, regulatory, and engineering experts, and ideally understand how agile development approaches can support complex product development. You sell relevance, not slide decks. You bring market insight, strong hypotheses, and a clear point of view. You enjoy big, complex deals. You are energized by long sales cycles, senior stakeholders, strategic buying committees, high-value opportunities, and the challenge of negotiation. You enjoy shaping the deal. You like the challenge of bids, proposals, and solution shaping, bringing the right experts together to craft offers that fit the client’s needs. What matters to us You are ideally based in Bavaria. The focus will be on the greater Munich medtech Market, with the possibility to pursue clients more broadly across Germany. Identify, approach, and acquire new mid-to-large German medtech clients with a strong focus on Munich/Bavaria. Build and develop a high-quality new-business pipeline. Lead consultative sales processes from first contact through discovery, solution shaping, proposal development, negotiation, and closing, positioning Zühlke as a strategic technology and product-development partner. Engage credibly with Managing Directors, Heads of R strong English is a plus for internal collaboration and international customer contexts.
