Tasks

As a Registered Nurse within a surgical department, you will provide high-quality patient care before and after surgical procedures. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team and contribute to excellent clinical outcomes and patient experiences.

Opportunities are available across a range of surgical specialties, including general surgery, abdominal and visceral surgery, orthopaedic surgery, interdisciplinary surgical care, oncological surgery and neurological care.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering holistic, patient-centered nursing care throughout the nursing process.
  • Monitoring, assessing and supporting patients during their hospital stay.
  • Performing clinical and technical nursing interventions.
  • Implementing medical prescriptions and treatment plans safely and professionally.
  • Identifying and responding appropriately to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
  • Collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintaining accurate patient documentation and reporting.
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices.
  • Supporting and mentoring students, trainees and newly appointed colleagues where applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing or equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Swiss Red Cross recognition completed, or at minimum a positive SRK PreCheck confirming eligibility for recognition.
  • Experience or a strong interest in surgical nursing.
  • Previous experience in an acute care and/or surgical setting is an advantage.
  • Professional, responsible and patient-focused approach.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and a proactive mindset.
  • Good German language skills, or willingness to further develop them.
  • Motivation to continuously develop both professionally and personally.
