The infrastructure investment team advises on eight infrastructure funds, managing over EUR 11bn in assets, with a track record of over 60 direct infrastructure investments since 2013. The focus is on private equity investments in infrastructure and renewable energy assets across Europe and North America. The dedicated infrastructure private equity team in Zurich comprises more than 60 professionals.
Responsibilities
- Support investment teams in structuring optimal debt financing solutions for new deals, ensuring efficient capital structuring.
- Advise on financing structures across all investment strategies for core, core-plus, and value-add assets, including renewable energy and energy transition sectors.
- Provide insights on financing terms and conditions to support long-term operational and financial objectives.
- Coordinate with co-investors to align financing strategies across ownership structures.
- Ensure financing structures consider operational implications like refinancing risks, covenant structures, and restructuring scenarios.
- Assist in debt restructuring and manage refinancing risks.
- Evaluate financial documentation and oversee negotiations of key debt terms, with final negotiations led by investment teams.
- Collaborate with asset managers to integrate financing considerations into asset management strategies.
- Manage two asset files where debt financing is critical.
- Contribute to developing internal financing frameworks for consistent debt structuring and lender engagement.
- Help define the long-term financing approach within Swiss Life’s asset management, leveraging internal expertise.
Experience
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- Minimum 15 years in project finance, structured finance, or debt capital markets, preferably in infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of acquisition, project, and refinancing financing.
- Established relationships within banking and financial communities, with understanding of European and international capital markets.
- Ability to manage complex financial structures across teams and geographies.
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are advantageous.
