About the Role
As a Governance & Steering Officer, you will play a key role in shaping our Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) unit. You will collaborate with a team of experienced governance professionals.
You will serve as the main contact for business partners regarding Governance, Risk, and Control, as well as selected reporting topics. Your role includes working closely with partners to enhance our governance, risk, and compliance framework.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance ART frameworks and process controls, including tool infrastructure and databases.
- Monitor and report on governance breaches and support our Risk Control Self-Assessment framework.
- Assist in internal and external reporting, including financial reporting.
- Collaborate with partners to develop, monitor, and report on KPIs related to the ART framework, ensuring alignment with standards.
- Work with governance, legal, compliance, and risk teams to exchange insights and maintain quality governance standards, especially within the captive context.
- Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in governance processes, aligning with ART standards.
- Lead or support governance workstreams within our business segment.

About You
We seek someone passionate about protecting our business, capable of engaging respectfully in challenging conversations, and possessing strong communication skills. You should be able to inspire and empower colleagues. Ideally, you have:
- At least 3 years of professional experience in insurance/reinsurance, governance, operations, compliance, or risk management.
- Strong process and project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Full professional proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.

For Germany, the salary range is EUR 64,000 to EUR 106,000 annually, based on role requirements, your profile, and experience. Swiss Re offers performance-based bonuses and various benefits.
