About theRole

This temporaryroleprovidesadistinctiveopportunity tocontribute toone of Swiss Re's Advance with AI (AwAI) initiativeswithinanMVPandto help shapethe future of underwriting at Swiss Re.

As a cross-BU initiative, theUnderwriting Governance Re-imagination projectaimstoreshapeunderwriting governance into a structured, AI-enabledframeworkthat supportsfuture underwriting processes and decision-makingcapabilities.

Throughoutthe project, Underwriting Standards will bereviewed andsimplified,reorganised, convertedinto a machine-readable format, and thenmigrated to a newplatformreplacing thecurrent Compasssolution.

The successful candidate willwork withsenior stakeholdersfromP&C Re,Group Underwriting, Portfolio Management, and theAwAIprogramme,gainingvaluable experienceat the intersection of underwriting, technology, AI, and business transformation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with reviewing, simplifying, reorganising, and migrating P&C Re Underwriting Standards into the new governance framework and platform.
  • Lead weekly discussions and stakeholder engagement activities to collect input, address questions, and build alignment.
  • Monitor delivery progress, highlight risks and dependencies, and escalat issues as needed.
  • Participate in testing, validation, and adoption efforts in preparation for the MVP launch.

The UW Governance team, part of UW Excellence, strengthens underwriting governance and operational discipline across P&C Re.We’readiverse team based across Zurich and Munich, partnering with Lines of Businesstoembed standards, streamline underwriting processes, and measure outcomes.Our team plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of underwriting at our organization through strategic initiatives and governance frameworks.

About You

  • General underwriting knowledge, particularly a sound understanding of how underwriters use Underwriting Standards and best practices in their work.
  • Ability to understand governance intent and translate it into clearand actionable requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • An interest in digitalisation, automation, and the evolution of underwriting capabilities.
  • Full proficiency in English.

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Interest in AI applications in underwriting and governance
  • Experience supporting projects or process improvements initiatives
  • Experience in preparing training materials or supporting learning programs
  • A talent for simplifying complex topics and communicating them effectively to varied audiences

The base salary range for this position will be shared with you during the interview process.

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
