Turkish Speaking Underwriter L&H (m/f/x/d)

About The Role

Swiss Re is looking for an ambitious and forward‑thinking L&H underwriter to join the Southern European team based in Zurich. In addition to traditional underwriting activities such as case assessment, training, and audits, you will take on a highly client‑facing role, supporting clients both operationally and strategically. You will be responsible for the assessment of medical, financial, and special risks for all ranges of Life and Health covers and will work closely with clients to provide underwriting expertise, share best practices, and contribute to the development and enhancement of underwriting frameworks and processes.

About The Team

Swiss Re Life and Health (L&H) UW and Claims form part of the Swiss Re L&H Market Unit function, responsible for driving growth opportunities and managing the in‑force business and related operations. As part of the wider Continental Europe UW and Claims team, you will work closely with the Southern Europe cross‑functional team to ensure we provide a premium service to our clients in the region.

About You

• Native Turkish speaker with work experience in Turkey.
• Excellent proficiency in English; knowledge of other Southern European languages, especially Arabic or Italian, is advantageous.
• Experience in L&H underwriting or a medical background such as physician, physiotherapist, nurse, etc.
• Knowledge of L&H product development and/or project management, or previous client‑facing role in another capacity.
• Ability to translate technical knowledge into clearly articulated commercial proposals, including benefits and impacts.
• Comfortable with technology and innovation.
• Willing to take accountability for leading and driving tasks and projects, while collaborating with colleagues and the wider team.
• Willing to travel and support local partners in different regions of Southern Europe.
• Comfortable speaking with senior‑level clients; ideally, experience in marketing (re)insurance services.

Role

The base salary range for this position (Germany) is between EUR 69,000 and EUR 115,000 for a full‑time role. The specific salary is based on the requirements, scope, complexity, and responsibilities of the role, as well as the applicant’s profile—including education, qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills, and experience. Salary may vary if you do not meet all requirements or if you significantly exceed them. In addition to base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits, including an attractive performance‑based bonus. Eligibility varies depending on Swiss Re policies and your employment contract.
