Then we look forward to receiving your application for the position ofHelp keep Switzerland’s lights onIn this varied and demanding position, you are responsible for creating models and conducting studies for the long-term development of the transmission system, with a particular focus on voltage control, system stability and integrating new technologies. Your tasks include:Modeling the various components of the electrical power system for dynamic analyses, including conventional and power electronics-based equipmentMaintaining and extending the network models used for planning and stability studiesConducting grid studies (load flow, short-circuit calculations, RMS and EMT simulations), with a focus on voltage and dynamic stability of the systemDefining and verifying technical requirements to be met by grid connection applicants in the areas of system stability, voltage support and power qualityAnalysis of the dynamic behaviour of the power system and assessment of the impact of new grid-connected installations and technologiesParticipating in projects with grid operators, power generators and national and international partnersManaging and reviewing verification of studies carried out by external partnersDeveloping tools and automation scripts for conducting stability studiesRepresenting Swissgrid in national and international working groups in your area of specializationThis is how you make a differenceWe are looking for an independent and organised person with strong analytical and presentation skills. We work with Swiss distribution system operators, power plant operators and other transmission system operators. We are responsible for model management and grid analyses for long-term planning.
