Senior Microsoft System Engineer Lead Microsoft infrastructure migrations across on-premise, hybrid and cloud environments in a senior client-facing engineering role.
Senior Microsoft System Engineer Job description: Take full technical responsibility for assigned customers and their Microsoft server infrastructure.
Plan and execute customer-system migrations across on-premise, hybrid and cloud environments.
Manage both project delivery and ongoing operational activities for customer environments.
Analyse technical requirements and independently design, implement and maintain suitable infrastructure solutions.
Act as the primary technical contact for customers, providing end-to-end support and technical guidance.
Work with mid-sized infrastructure environments, typically supporting organisations with 50–500 employees and approximately 20–100 servers.
Collaborate with a team of around ten experienced infrastructure specialists while independently leading the technical delivery of your assignments.
Contribute hands-on expertise rather than focusing solely on coordination or high-level architecture.
Job requirements Several years of hands-on experience as a Senior Microsoft System Engineer, Windows System Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer.
Strong experience migrating customer systems between on-premise, hybrid and cloud environments.
Expert-level knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Active Directory, including subdomains and trusts Microsoft Azure Microsoft Exchange Power Shell Microsoft SQL Server SCCM Remote Desktop Services Solid knowledge of Microsoft server infrastructure and traditional systems engineering.
Demonstrable experience independently implementing technical solutions and resolving complex infrastructure issues.
Ability to manage both infrastructure projects and operational responsibilities.
Strong customer orientation and confidence taking full technical ownership of client accounts.
Fluent German.
Independent, pragmatic and delivery-focused working style.
Willingness to participate in a technical interview, assessment and case study.
Nice to have Deep expertise across several of the listed Microsoft technologies.
Experience working for an IT service provider or managed-services environment.
Experience supporting customers in regulated sectors such as healthcare, banking or pharmaceuticals.
Knowledge of secure, locally hosted or sovereign cloud environments.
Experience working with mid-market infrastructure landscapes.
